French pilot site featured in Hydroplus Magazine

Early results from our drinking water pilot site are featured in the latest edition of Hydroplus Magazine, in a series on water and energy.

Yves Cabaret, the deputy director of SMPGA, is interviewed on their work leading this demonstration site, which came into operation earlier this year.  The site uses micro-hydro power technology to investigate the potential for energy recovery in existing water networks.  Yves outlines the advantages of the micro-turbine technology, its energy generating potential, as well as some of the challenges to implementing this technology in a drinking water treatment plant in Normandy, France.

This pilot is just one of our three demonstration sites.  We also are testing our energy recovery technology in an irrigation network in Spain, and in the paper processing industry in Portugal.

Hydroplus is the French magazine for water and sanitation professionals.
