Terry Waugh (CEO Action Renewables)Terry Waugh is the REDAWN project Lead and the Chief Executive Officer of Action Renewables, a not- for-profit enterprise and Northern Ireland’s leading authority on renewables. Terry has worked for Action Renewables for 16 years and prior to that, Terry gained over 20 years' energy industry experience at Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE), where he acted as Customer Relations Manager for NIE’s Transmission and Distribution business. Terry has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Finance, a Masters of Business Administration and an OU accreditation on Energy for a Sustainable Future. |

Andrew Muir (Alliance Party MLA)Andrew Muir is Alliance Party MLA for North Down and Party Spokesperson for Infrastructure and Finance serving on Assembly Public Accounts and Infrastructure Committees. Andrew has served as MLA since December 2019 replacing Dr Stephen Farry after his election as MP. Prior to joining the Northern Ireland Assembly Andrew served as Councillor since 2010, Mayor of North Down 2013/14 and Group Leader of Alliance Party Group on Ards and North Down Borough Council since foundation in 2014. Before becoming a MLA Andrew worked for Translink as a Project Manager overseeing £42million Future Ticketing System Project as a certified PRINCE 2 Practitioner. A keen runner, Andrew founded both Bangor and Crawfordsburn parkruns and has completed ten Marathons with a Personal Best of 3:07. |

Armando Carravetta (University of Naples, Federico III)Armando Carravetta is Full Professor in Hydraulics at the Department of Civil, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, University of Naples, Federico II, IT. He undertakes research in technical innovation for water systems, energy efficiency and resilience of pumping systems, energy recovery by PAT technology, and fluid dynamics of slurry flows. He represents the Italian Association of Pump Manufacturers in the Europump Lot 28 Working Group for the implementation of the European standards on Ecodesign. He is one of the partners in the ongoing EU Interreg project Reducing Energy Dependency in Atlantic Area Water Networks (REDAWN). |

Ioannis Kougias (Scientific Research, EU Joint Research Centre)Ioannis Kougias is a Programme Officer at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. As a research fellow he regularly provides insight in several European projects related to energy. His research interests extend to the fields of renewables, hydropower, water-energy nexus, access to energy in rural/remote/island areas and the sustainable electrification of the developing world. He regularly publishes in scientific periodicals and supports EU policy making. |

Anthony Rinjonneau (Sud Ouest Canalisations)Anthony Rinjonneau is Commercial Director, Hydroforce (Sud Ouest Canalisations). He has an engineering background and 15 years of professional experience in the water industry sector. He is currently in charge of the commercial and marketing development of the water and energy market within SOC, manufacturing and promoting the innovative patented use of turbines as pumps (PATs) for the recovery of lost energy in water networks. |

Enrique Ruiz Hernández (Powerturbines S.L)Enrique Ruiz is the main partner and founder of Powerturbines S.L., a Spanish company specialised in the use of PATs (pumps used as turbines) in water networks. His work experience began in Hidraqua, a water utility company owned by Suez Environment, where he worked for 5 years as director of municipal projects and for 3 years as Operation Engineer controlling water leaks, efficiency of the water network, energy optimization, etc. Recently, he has been working in different PAT projects, currently with Powerturbines and formerly with other companies he has co-founded, mainly in Spain and in other countries like France, Colombia and Mexico. His main clients are water utility companies that use small turbines to produce energy in remote areas without grid connection or to produce energy connected to the grid for selling or self-consumption. |

Leonardo Roggen, (HIGRA), BrazilLeonardo Roggen is an Environmental Engineer and Energy Efficiency Analyst at HIGRA based in Brazil. He is a specialist in hydropower projects and he is also currently a Master's Student in Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering at University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil.

Aonghus McNabola (Trinity College Dublin TCD)Professor Aonghus McNabola is a Professor in Energy and the Environment at the Dept of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, Trinity College Dublin. His research interests lie in the field of Environmental Fluid Dynamics where he has applied this expertise in air pollution, energy efficiency and/or water services sectors. He has been active in this field of research for over 15 years. He teaches at postgraduate and undergraduate levels in the subject areas of hydraulics, air pollution and renewable energy. Prof. McNabola currently leads a group of researchers and is involved, primarily as the lead partner and principal investigator, in a number of national and international collaborative projects, funded by Horizon 2020, INTERREG ERDF,SEAI and the EPA. |

Pedro Amarel Jorge (APREN - Portuguese Association of Renewables)Pedro Amaral Jorge is CEO of APREN and has also been a board member of the Portuguese Water Partnership since 2020. Previously, he worked at AfDB as private sector expert developing and financially structuring infrastructure, energy, water and sanitation projects, mainly in the Sub-Saharan Africa region. Pedro has an extensive track record on EPC and Utility business development, financing, designing, building and management. He also has 22 years’ experience in top management positions leading the development, execution, implementation and management of water and sanitation sustainable infrastructure. He has a postgrad as Green Energy Finance Specialist from RENAC, an Executive MBA in Finance and Operations from IESE/AESE as well as a MsC in Mechanical Engineering from IST - Instituto Superior Técnico. |

Joaquín Villar RodríguezJoaquín Villar Rodríguez is currently Head of Internationalisation and Prospective Department of the Andalusian Energy Agency (AEA), whose objective is improving the positioning of the AEA internationally, as a tool to promote the internationalisation of Andalusian companies in the energy sector. He currently coordinates different international projects on sustainable construction, smartgrids, energy efficiency and renewables, EV and energy storage. He has more than 20 years experience in the area of energy promotion actions in the AEA, coordinating the implementation of different plans on energy efficiency and renewable energy promoted by the Regional and National Government. He is also a member of different working groups at regional and national level, among them the Technical Group of the Smart Specialization of Andalusia.

Simon Hamlyn (British Hydropower Association)Simon has been CEO of the British Hydropower Association since January 2014. He holds a BA Honours degree in 3-dimensional design with a career that has embraced international branded drinks, hotels and leisure, electronic entertainment, magazine publishing, internet businesses and since 2001, consumer and trade membership organisations. Based in Shropshire with 2 terriers and two young children he enjoys, a love of music, collecting original artwork, cooking, cricket, football, skiing, and running. He is a Whitchurch Town Councillor and Deputy Mayor, Chairman of the Whitchurch Town Council Personnel Committee and Vice Chairman of the Cultural and Civic Committee and Honorary Life Member of the South African Wingshooters Association. |

Vincent Railliet (SMPGA)Vincent Raillit is President of SMPGA and has been leading SMPGA since September 24th 2020, when the 68 delegates from 34 towns and federations elected him as President of SMPGA for the next 6 years. He is also first deputy to the Mayor of Carolles. He has two master’s degrees: one in history and geography and one in Law (Reims University) and also a bachelor’s degree of Higher Education in Insurances. He is extremely interested in the water domain and climate change and is committed to water management public structures : SMPGA for drinkable water, SMAAG for sanitation and the federation of municipalities for aquatic environments management, flood preventions and also coastline protection against the risk of erosion and flooding. |

Ismael Morán-García (EU Interreg Atlantic Area)Ismael Morán-García is is currently Deputy Director and Project Manager of the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Norte, Portugal. He has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and in Political Science and Administration and Master in Management of European Funds and International Relations. His international professional experience includes: Project Manager in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic, Project Manager of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Interreg IIIA Spain-Portugal, Managing Authority Ministry of Economy and Finance of Spain, Financial Manager of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Interreg IIIB Atlantic Area Cooperation Programme, Managing Authority Poitou-Charentes Regional Council, France and Operational and Financial Manager of the Transnational Cooperation Programme Atlantic Area. |

Helena Ramos (Instituto Superior Technico, IST)Helena M. Ramos is Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), the engineering faculty of the University of Lisbon. She is Editor-in-chief of Water Journal and guest editor of several special issues. She has more than 400 publications, with 5 books, 180 scientific international papers and more than 15 international scientific research projects. She is a leader of work within the REDAWN Micro-Hydro project, where she has consructed a pilot demonstration site in Portugal, developed a new turbine concept tested in the hydraulic lab of IST, supported interviews to break existent barriers to implement Micro-Hydro technology in the water sector, analysed the energy potential and leakage control in Madeira Island and given support to a number of different studies from technical, environmental and economic point of views. Her results from REDAWN have been published and disseminated widely.
